North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) Complaint and Grievance
NARM Complaint Review addresses a complaint against a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) to NARM. This initiates a formal process that must include the participation of the midwife and the client. Recommendations derived as a result of this process are non-binding.
NARM Grievance Mechanism addresses a second or subsequent complaint against a CPM or CPM applicant. Any recommendations derived as a result of this process are binding and may include probation, suspension, or revocation of a CPM credential, or suspension or denial of a NARM application.
Missouri Midwives Association (MMA) Grievance
Missouri Midwives Association (MMA) offers a Grievance Process to the public and midwives practicing in Missouri. A person with first-hand knowledge of the incident may file a written complaint. The midwife is given the opportunity to bring a defense to any complaint before action is taken against her. The MMA Grievance Process may be initiated by filing a written complaint with the MMA Grievance Review Board. Please contact the Grievance Board for more information: Grievance@missourimidwives.org
